A GST invoice in a few minutes
- Fill in your business once, with your GSTIN; the state is set from its first two digits.
- Add the customer, with their GSTIN if they are registered.
- Add the items with HSN or SAC codes, quantity, rate, any discount and the GST rate.
- The tax split, round-off and the total in words are worked out as you type, and the PDF updates with them.
How the numbers are worked out
Each line's value is quantity × rate, less its discount; that is the taxable value. Tax is charged on the taxable value, and for an intra-state supply CGST and SGST are each half the rate, rounded to the paisa separately. The total can be rounded to the nearest rupee, with the difference shown as a "Round off" line, as accounting software does. All of it is calculated in whole paise, so there are no floating-point surprises like ₹0.01 differences.
Amount in words
Indian invoices write the total in words using lakh and crore: ₹1,18,000 is "Rupees One Lakh Eighteen Thousand Only". The same converter is available on its own as the amount in words tool, in English and Hindi.
Private by design
Invoices carry your customers' names, addresses and what they bought. Here the PDF is drawn in your browser and nothing is uploaded, so there is no account, no customer list on someone else's server and no watermark.
