One QR code generator for everything you print

A QR code is a pattern of squares that stores a short piece of text. What that text says decides what the phone does: open a link, join a Wi-Fi network, save a contact, start a UPI payment or add an event to the calendar. This generator writes each format correctly for you, escaping included, then lets you design the code and drop it into a layout ready to print.

Layouts that are ready to print

A bare code on a page gets ignored. People scan when they know why: "Scan for menu", "Pay ₹250", "Scan to join the Wi-Fi". Pick one of the eleven layouts (scan-me frame, badge, poster, price tag, business card, Wi-Fi card, table tent, UPI payment stand, event ticket or follow-us card) and its text fills in from your content: the UPI stand shows the payee and the amount, the Wi-Fi card the network name, the business card the contact's details. Every word can be edited, and each layout comes in several colour themes.

Design it, then check it still scans

Colours, gradients, rounded or dotted modules, round corner eyes and a logo all make a code look like yours, and every one of them makes it a little harder to read. So after each change the tool draws the code exactly as it will be exported and decodes it in your browser, the way a phone camera does. You see Checked: scans correctly, or a plain warning saying what to fix.

  • Contrast. Dark on light, with a contrast of at least 4:1. A pale gradient end counts too.
  • Inverted codes. Light-on-dark looks striking, but some scanners never try reading it.
  • Quiet zone. The empty border around the code is part of it. Four modules is the standard.
  • Amount of data. Long text makes small modules. Link to a page instead of pasting a paragraph.

No account, no expiry, no tracking

Everything happens in this browser tab: your Wi-Fi password, UPI ID, contact details and logo are never sent anywhere, and the codes are static, so there is no account, no expiry date and no scan tracking. If you want to put the code into an existing poster or photo, download the PNG and place it with the image editor, or combine several printouts into one file with images to PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. These are static codes: the link, Wi-Fi details or payment request is written into the pattern itself, so the code works for as long as what it points to exists. There is no "dynamic" redirect service in between that could be switched off or put behind a subscription. The flip side is that you cannot change where a printed code points; to do that, encode a link to a page you control and update the page.

Are scans tracked or counted?

No. A static code sends the phone straight to your link, number or network, with no redirect through our servers, so there is nothing to count and nothing is recorded. If you need scan numbers, add your own analytics tag to the link (for example a utm_source parameter) and read it in your site’s analytics.

How do I make a UPI QR code for payments?

Choose UPI payment, enter the UPI ID that receives the money (like shop@okhdfcbank), the payee name and, if you want a fixed price, the amount. The code opens GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or any other UPI app with those details filled in. Always scan it once with your own phone and check the name shown before you print it: a wrong UPI ID sends money to someone else.

Can a QR code hold a photo or image?

Not really: a QR code holds at most about 3 KB of text, far too little for a picture. Choose Image and paste the link to where your picture is hosted; scanning opens it. Separately, you can put a logo or small picture in the centre of any code. That picture is used only on your device and never uploaded.

Will my code still scan with a logo in the middle?

Yes, within limits. Adding a logo switches error correction to H, which lets about 30% of the code be hidden, and the logo is capped at 22% of the width with a clear pad around it. The tool also decodes every version you design, like a phone would, and tells you if it stops scanning: too little contrast, a logo too big, or too much data for the size.

Which download should I use for printing?

SVG for a designer or print shop (it stays sharp at any size), PDF for printing at home (one page at the layout’s real size, drawn at 300 DPI), and PNG for web pages, WhatsApp and documents. Print a code at least 2 cm wide for a business card and bigger for a poster seen from a distance.
