Frequently asked questions

Is my document uploaded or stored on a server?

No. Everything happens in this browser tab. The document is kept in this browser as you type, so a reload does not lose it, and it is only saved as a file when you press Save.

Can I open and edit an existing Word file?

Yes. Press Open and choose a .docx file. Its text, headings, bold and italic, lists, tables and pictures come in to edit; complex layout such as text boxes, columns, headers and footers is simplified. Old .doc files need saving as .docx first.

Will the saved file open in Microsoft Word, Google Docs or WPS?

Yes. "Save Word" writes a standard .docx with real Word headings, lists and tables, which opens in Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice, WPS and on phones.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The formatting bar scrolls sideways and stays at the top while you type, and the page fits the screen. Select text first, then tap a button to format it.

Can I type in Hindi or other Indian languages?

Yes. Type with your keyboard in any language; the Word file keeps the text exactly, and the PDF draws it with fonts that have its letters.
