Your text

Paste text, then pick a conversion. Hindi and other scripts without capitals are left as they are.

Fix capitals without retyping

Text pasted with Caps Lock on, a heading that needs proper title capitals, or a list of names that arrived in lower case: paste it in, press the conversion you want, and copy the result. Undo takes you back a step if a conversion was not what you wanted.

Tidy text copied from PDFs and emails

Text copied out of a PDF often breaks at the end of every line and carries double spaces. "Remove line breaks" rejoins each paragraph, "Remove extra spaces" collapses runs of spaces and tabs, and "Remove empty lines" closes up gaps in a list. To pull the text out of a PDF in the first place, use PDF to text.

For developers

camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case and CONSTANT_CASE split words on spaces, punctuation and existing capitals, so "getHTTPResponse code" becomes get_http_response_code. Each line is converted on its own, so a whole list of names can be done at once.

Frequently asked questions

Which words stay small in Title Case?

Articles (a, an, the), short conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) and short prepositions (as, at, by, in, of, off, on, per, to, up, via, from, into, onto, with, than), as most English style guides recommend. They are still capitalised when they are the first or last word, or follow a colon. Words with capitals inside them, such as iPhone or NASA, are left as you wrote them.

What does Sentence case do?

It lowers everything, then capitalises the first letter of each sentence and the word "I". Names and acronyms become lower case too, so check them afterwards; there is no dictionary that knows which words are names.

Does it change Hindi text?

No. Devanagari and the other Indian scripts have no capital letters, so they pass through untouched, and in mixed text only the English words change.

What are camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case for?

They are ways of writing several words as one name without spaces, used in programming, file names and web addresses: camelCase (myFileName), PascalCase (MyFileName), snake_case (my_file_name), kebab-case (my-file-name) and CONSTANT_CASE (MY_FILE_NAME). Each line of your text is converted separately.

What does "Remove line breaks" do to paragraphs?

It joins the lines of each paragraph with spaces, which fixes text copied from a PDF where every line ends in a break, but keeps a blank line between paragraphs so they stay apart.
