What a rent receipt should show
- The tenant's and the landlord's names.
- The address of the rented property.
- The rent paid, in figures and in words, and the month it covers.
- How it was paid: cash, cheque, bank transfer or UPI.
- The landlord's PAN when yearly rent is more than ₹1,00,000.
- The landlord's signature, with a ₹1 revenue stamp on cash receipts above ₹5,000.
Every receipt this tool makes carries all of these, numbered and dated, one per month.
How many receipts to submit
Employers usually ask for receipts when collecting investment proofs, often for the whole financial year (April to March) or for the months since you joined. Pick the financial year, or set the first and last month yourself. Two receipts fit on an A4 page to save paper; choose one per page if your employer wants them separate.
Getting them signed
Print the PDF and have your landlord sign each receipt. If they live elsewhere, they can sign digitally: send them the PDF and they can add a signature with the PDF signing tool, which also runs without uploading the file.
