Project exam: tiffin orders, end to end

Project examintermediate· about 1.5 hours· 6 steps· 90 min · pass 60%

The brief

In 90 minutes, build one feature of the Ghar Ka Khana tiffin app across the whole stack: two SQL reports for the kitchen and the sales team, order validation, the POST /api/orders handler with a 10 am cut-off in Indian time, the frontend call, and the "my orders" table.

Why it matters

Full-stack interviews and freelance trials often give exactly this: one real feature, every layer, against the clock. Cloud kitchens and tiffin services in every Indian city run on these rules: daily counts per area, renewal reminders, order cut-offs and clear bills.

Skills you practise

  • GROUP BY reports
  • date ranges in SQL
  • validation with field errors
  • a handler with 401, 400, 409 and 201
  • time zones (IST)
  • fetch with credentials and errors
  • rendering a table

What you will have at the end

Two SQL reports and orders.js (validation, the handler, the frontend call and the table), written and checked in 90 minutes.

Rules: a project exam

  • The exam opens full screen. Stay on this page until you hand it in.
  • Opening another tab or app, or leaving full screen, counts as one time away. After 3 times the exam ends.
  • No copy or paste during the exam.
  • No hints and no answers. You can run your code, but the checks run only when you hand in.
  • Every task is checked automatically when you hand in, or when the time is up.
  • You see which tasks passed at the end. You can take it again.
