Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The ZIP is made inside this browser tab and saved straight to your device.

Can I zip a whole folder?

Yes. Drop the folder onto the box, or press "Add a folder" on a computer. The folders inside it are kept in the ZIP. On an iPhone, choose the files instead (Safari does not offer folder picking).

Why is my ZIP of photos not much smaller?

Photos, videos and music are already compressed, so zipping cannot shrink them much; they are packed as they are. Text, documents and spreadsheets usually get much smaller. To make photos smaller, use the bulk image compressor first.

How big can the ZIP be?

Up to 2 GB of files and 10,000 files at once. The browser holds the whole ZIP in memory while making it, so a phone may manage less.

Can I add a password?

No, this tool does not offer password protection.
