Sharp screenshots in a PDF

Each PNG becomes one page of a single PDF, in the order you set, on A4, US Letter or a page fitted to each picture. On this page PNG pictures go into the PDF losslessly, as PNG rather than re-saved as JPG, so small text in a screenshot stays exactly as sharp as it was; the PDF is larger for it. JPG, WebP and HEIC pictures can be added to the same PDF.

Transparent parts of a PNG show as the white of the page. A screenshot’s text is a picture in the PDF, not text you can select; to make it searchable, run the PDF through OCR PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Will my screenshots stay sharp?

Yes. On this page PNG pictures go into the PDF as PNG, losslessly, rather than being re-saved as JPG.

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

They show the white of the PDF page.

Is my file uploaded?

No. The PDF is made by your own browser inside this page.

Can I select the text in the PDF?

Not straight away: a screenshot is a picture. Use OCR PDF to add a searchable, selectable text layer.

Is the PNG to PDF free?

Yes. The PNG to PDF on The Daily Toolbox is free to use as often as you like, with no watermark and no file limit beyond what your device can handle.

Do I need to sign up or install anything?

No. It works in your web browser on a phone or computer, with no account and nothing to install. You can add the site to your home screen to open it like an app.
